Introduction to Calculus Power Point
Khan Academy lessons on finding limits
Link to Drawing Derivative Functions
Link to finding the derivatives for simple polynomials using the derivative short cut rules from ch. 17 section B.
More Khan Academy Lessons:
Chain Rule
Chain rule examples
Product rule
Quotient Rule
Below you will find links to some useful youtube videos in regards to using your Graphics calculator. The example is from chapter 17 section F #2d.
1. How to enter a function into your GDC and find the derivative for a given value of x. (new operating system)
2. The same for the TI-83 or old operating system.
Click here to find the notes to section 17H and 17G. Please note that the method I use to find tangent and normal lines is DIFFERENT from the books method!
Worked solutions to HW 8 (17F and G on tangent/normal lines and the second derivative)
CH16/17 TEST REVIEW
1. full worked solutions (although the books method for finding tangent and normal lines is different from the method we used in class. To find a tangent line: 1. Find the slope at the point and plug this into y =mx+b. 2. Find the point of contact and plug this into y=mx+b to find b (the y intercept))
